Celebrate Powell Street Festival’s 35th Anniversary!

Vancouver’s oldest community-based festival, Powell Street Festival is celebrating its anniversary on June 15 at Performance Works in Granville Island. In 1977, the first Powell Street Festival was held in Oppenheimer Park on Powell Street, in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, which was once the city’s Japantown. Since then, the Festival has continued annually through the perseverance and support of tons of volunteers and long-term community supporters. To stay strong and innovative for another 35 years, we are hosting “KANPAI!” (cheers!), a fundraiser featuring square dancing with Shout! White Dragon, MC-ing and songs by Jay Kin, a live and silent auction, cash bar and Japanese appetizers. No dancing experience required!

Art and other live and silent auction items can be previewed at Silent Auction Preview page or our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/powellstfest
