The Open Doors project was great! It literally opened doors to great places that normally were not visible from the street. I enjoyed the tour of the St James facility. It will be great that this Open Doors concept can gradually be expanded to more than a 2 day festival. If all the buildings on Powell Street are that engaging everyday then the street will really feel different.
Great event overall.
What a great project. The historical panels really connected me to the buildings, the streetscape and the people. Looking forward to more ‘open doors’ participants and their associated panels at future Powell Street Festivals …. and to a shopping area that is lively and interesting like the way it was in the past.
The Festival was terrific this year and I really enjoyed how the Open Doors Project extended it into the neighbourhood. I was impressed at how many festival goers were walking along Powell Street. Great work on the boards and kudos to the cooperating business owners. It’s neat to see such a strong effort being put into the historic Japantown area.
